Flight mechanisms and thermal hardware for spacecraft and lunar missions.
All products are in development. Specifications shown are design targets.
Active thermal switch interface. Keep your avionics alive through the lunar night.
Ember is an active, thermally controlled interface plate that mounts between your avionics and the lander’s thermal path. During the lunar day it couples the electronics to the thermal path to reject heat. At sunset it decouples them, isolating the avionics to help them stay warm through the 14-day lunar night.
Commandable high and low conductance states
Mounts directly between the avionics box and the lander thermal deck
Optional integrated electrical pass-through, or a purely mechanical/thermal version
Designed to NASA GEVS qualification levels
Applications: lunar landers, rovers and payloads; deep-space missions
EMBER
OVS-10x
Separation and inhibit switch. Plunger-actuated switches for launch inhibits and deployment feedback.
A compact plunger switch assembly in a low-mass, low-volume package. Use it as a separation or inhibit switch to keep a spacecraft powered down until deployment, or as position feedback on deployables. Available in 1-, 2- and 3-switch versions (OVS-101, OVS-102, OVS-103).
Hermetically sealed snap-action switches, MIL-PRF-8805
SPDT per switch, rated 3 A at 28 VDC
Operating temperature: −50 °C to +100 °C
Mass (est.): 25 / 40 / 55 g
Designed to NASA GEVS qualification levels
Applications: smallsat and CubeSat separation systems, deployables, payload mechanisms
